Take the lead in the installation of our customer projects

Do you want to work directly in our core business with the installation of our delivery projects? If you have experience from the offshore industry and are keen on an opportunity to utilize this competence, we have the right job for you. As part of the Installation department you will be working in a global and dynamic environment leading the installation of our customer projects.

Drive and lead the installation scope

In the project’s installation team you will be the one taking responsibility for and coordinating all activities needed to deliver the installation documentation package in the contract from start up, planning and preparation to execution and closure phase. You will be working with one of the largest projects in our portfolio and in the Deputy Project Installation Manager role, you will be the interface between the overall Project Installation Manager and the installation engineers as well as several other functions in the team, taking care of various parts of the (installation) project

Besides the above, your responsibilities will also include:

  • Reviewing detailed engineering reports (both internal as well as the ones prepared by subcontractors), procedures and method statements and when required; develop method statements and RFPs (Request For Proposal) to subcontractors yourself
  • Managing the installation deliverables in the Document List from a timing and budget perspective, and also checking that all the documents meet the contract requirements
  • Contribute and support the internal and external reporting
  • Ensuring that the project follows execution’s best practices and NKT policies
  • Taking care of ad hoc needs of the project and actively respond to questions from the project management
  • Manage the System Engineering requirements of the installation part of the contract
  • Capture, analyse and share lessons learned throughout the project
  • Know the contract, support the claims and procurement management
  • Occasionally cover for the Project Installation Manager duties (during holidays or for smaller scopes)

Some travelling to subcontractors, installation sites and customer visits is included in the role.

Communicative project manager with a self-going and driven attitude

Your strong communication skills allow you to effectively communicate with all internal and external stakeholders as well as building and maintaining strong relationships. In order to succeed you are a collaborative team player who is driven, self-going and service minded with a high technical interest, excellent negotiation skills and high sense of responsibility.

Also, to be successful in this role you have the ability to handle installation projects of different sizes, as well as assess, propose and implement solutions in the project.


Additionally, your CV includes:

  • BSc degree preferably MSc within Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Involvement in previous offshore cable installation projects, preferably in an engineering role
  • Fluency in spoken and written English. German or Dutch are beneficial but not required.
  • PM training and/or courses are meritorious
